Are you ready to make a quilt using ALL of your favourite colours? If so, then this is the project for you! Use conventional patchwork piecing with fat eighths, precut squares, or favourite scraps to piece a series of monochromatic Star Systems arranged in a striking colour wheel composition.
This is a patchwork-pieced pattern. The blocks are made entirely of rotary-cut squares and rectangles, and everything is sewn together using conventional patchwork techniques. No templates or paper piecing!
The pattern includes a diagram and chart showing all of the pieces needed to make each block. You can use this as a reference while making the pattern projects, or as a guide for making individual blocks and scrappy projects.
Skill Level: 3/5
This pattern includes instructions for making an 80" x 80" quilt featuring nine 24" x 24" Star Systems blocks.
Star Systems includes instructions for using scraps from the quilt top to make a pieced quilt back. Making the pieced back will use fabric that might otherwise be discarded, while are reducing the amount of backing fabric yardage you will need.
